Kamaka Ukulele

Dad had this Kamaka uke since he was a kid. Taught himself how to play and took it to Vietnam and back! We kids grew up with Dad playing this uke and beautifully singing a variety of songs – show tunes, contemporary, and of course, Hawaiian.

This ukulele was refurbished by a good friend of Robbie’s and Amy’s, Josh Stotler, of Oak Creek Guitars. He did a magnificent job; his craftsmanship shows his attention and care. 

Josh reached out to the Kamaka Family and received back a touching letter from Mr. Fred Kamaka, himself.  Josh also wrote a beautiful article on restoring the uke and how we all were affected by his generosity. Take a moment to read, “COLONEL ROBERT FERNANDEZ’S KAMAKA“
